Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2025-2045, Jeb Dunnuck, Jun 2024

The yellow/green-colored 2021 Chardonnay Richard Dinner Vineyard shows the riper side of things but stays Burgundian in its aromas with notes of almond, orange rind, cereal grain, and melon. Full-bodied, it has a kiss of sweet fruit on the palate and a more decadent feel with a floral finish. Drink 2025-2045.

The 2021 Chardonnay Richard Dinner Vineyard was matured in 37% new French oak for nine months. It opens slowly as it spends time in the glass and will benefit from additional bottle time or a decant. Apricot, peach and honey are accented by touches of flint and mushroom, and the light-bodied palate is highly concentrated yet racy. It has pure, expressive flavors, shimmery mineral character and a very long, lively finish. 362 cases were made.

The 2021 Chardonnay Richard Dinner Vineyard is a very pretty, expressive wine. Savory, earthy and mineral notes are front and center, while the fruit is more pushed back into the background. This nuanced, phenolic Chardonnay has plenty of character, but it is also pretty soft for this bottling.

Gorgeous aromas of dried pineapple, apple puree and crushed stone. Lemon curd and light vanilla, too. Full-bodied with flint and gun metal and all the fruit shown on the nose. Compact and beautiful. Very primary. Super structure. Drink or hold.
