From the higher (better) section of the To-Kalon vineyard – sourced from the same plots every year, the 2019 Paul Hobbs is a beautiful rendition. An earthy, savoury, terroir-driven character brings such character to the wine, backed up with an overriding sense of freshness. The rich, condensed, pure fruit, beautifully integrates with the more savoury notes and the layering textural complexity of the tannins is world-class. The structural density, verticality, fruit purity and freshness showcase Napa at its finest.

Paul Hobbs is one of California wine’s biggest names. Twice named Wine Personality of the Year by Robert Parker, he joined Robert Mondavi in 1977, worked at Opus One and Simi before setting up his eponymous winery in 1991.
