Pale greenish gold. Lovely interesting development on the nose. Very dense and rich. Great full, powerful. Tingles, burnt green-fruits flavour. Lively. Long. Just very slightly sour stops me from giving a higher score but this is a very well made, powerful wine. Clean finish. Very dry. (JR)

The 1995 Riesling Smaragd Durnsteiner Kellerberg offers a nose of citrus fruits, mint and sweetened herbal teas. Bright limes, spicy fennel bulbs, and apricots can be found in its laser-like character. This light to medium-bodied effort is an almost linear, extremely long wine of huge concentration that requires cellaring. Projected maturity: 2005-2020.
