The nose of the 2021 Riesling Winninger Röttgen Grosses Gewächs is clouded with smoky reduction. As this slowly wears off, appealing citrus comes to the fore: pink grapefruit peel and pith. The palate is intense, combining a lovely citrus ripeness with a salty, mouth-watering streak and beautiful intensity. (Dry)

AP number 12 22. Smoky, ripe citrus and, as on all these Heymann-Löwenstein 2021s, a distinctive ripeness and even with the smoky notes of spontaneous fermentation, a more open/oxidative style of Riesling. A 'darker' style of Mosel. Full, creamy and gentle on the palate. Balanced in its own style. For my personal taste, just a little too soft on the finish but it's long. (JH)
Elegant fruity aromas, yeasty nuances and smoky stone. Refined, supple palate with citrus fruit concentration, filigreed acidity and chalky finesse. The vintage reveals remarkable restraint in a normally opulent site. (PS)
