The 2023 Riesling Sommerberg Grand Cru had no trouble with dryness in 2023 on the granitic soils, as the vine roots can penetrate this steep, rocky site. A wonderfully smoky sense of flint speaks of the delicious and promising reduction with a sense of crunchy, tart red apple. The palate is serene and slender, with granitic verve, cut, depth and a marked stoniness that is so enticing. This is wonderfully racy, taut and sinous. (Bone-dry)
