Note di degustazione
The 2022 Rayne-Vigneau has a pleasant, white flower-tinged bouquet with acacia honey coming through with time. It just lacks a bit of horsepower. The palate is well balanced with a viscous opening, fine acidity, light and fresh, with a touch of ginger on the finish. I think it just needs time in bottle. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.

Slightly deeper hued, the 2022 Château De Rayne Vigneau has a complex, ripe profile in its marmalade, toasted bread, and caramelized peach-driven aromas and flavors. It's wonderfully textured and full, with integrated acidity and a great finish. The blend is 73% Semillon, 24% Sauvignon Blanc, and 3% Muscadelle.
The 2022 Rayne-Vigneau has a slightly Germanic feel on the nose, with a light petrol note that percolates through the honeyed fruit. The palate is well balanced with a fresh opening and light pear and passionfruit tones mixed with a touch of pineapple, leading to a viscous, nectarine- and peach skin-tinged finish. This is very promising.
This has dried mango and dried pineapple aromas with a nice touch of spices and a bitter note. Slightly saline on the palate, with a medium to full body and mild viscosity for a Sauternes. Drink from 2026.

The 1855 classification placed Ch. de Rayne Vigneau just behind Ch. d’Yquem – also a nearby neighbour. Its 84-hectare vineyard sits in a single block on gravel mounds, overlooking the Ciron in Sauternes, and producing impressive sweet wines.
