The 2023 Pinot Noir Three Sisters Vineyard comes from vines planted in 1995, and fruit was harvested on November 3. It has a pale ruby color and scents of sour cherry, cranberry, tangerine peel, Angostura bitters and allspice. The medium-bodied palate is bursting with fragrant, crunchy red fruit and well-integrated new-oak flavors. It’s structured by soft, silky tannins and vibrant acidity and has a long, spicy finish. 208 cases were made.

Made from the 115, 777, and Pommard clones, the 2023 Pinot Noir Three Sisters is a bright red color and is more savory, showing off lovely notes of spiced cranberries, red berries, a light umami touch of sea spray, brambly herbs, and red flowers. Medium-bodied, it’s approachable upfront and has a refined, medium-bodied feel, with a silky texture and its more savory salinity and herb notes coming through on the finish. Drink 2025-2035. One of the most historic names in Sonoma, the Martinellis are sixth-generation winegrowers based in the heart of the Russian River Valley. Prolific farmers, all of their wines come from estate-grown fruit, with 90% of the grapes sold off to other wineries. In addition to focusing on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, they also produce Zinfandel, Syrah, and Muscat of Alexandria. Courtney Robinett Wagoner joined the team in 2015 as the assistant winemaker before being promoted to winemaker in 2017.
