2020 Gruner Veltliner Zwerithaler Smaragd

Picked in early November, the 2020 Ried Zwerithaler Kammergut Grüner Veltliner Smaragd opens with a gorgeously fine and aromatic but also herbal bouquet of yellow plums and apricots spiced with crunchy stone plate aromas, as if there were slate or this were a wine from the Northern Rhône. Sourced from nine terraces adding up to 4,000 square meters and from predominantly 113-year-old vines, this is a powerful but refined and elegant, dense and concentrated yet fresh and finely mineral, stimulating salty and salivating Zwerithaler of great finesse, elegance and terroir expression. 32 grams per liter of dry extract. Tasted at the domain in June 2021.
