2018 Vigna Claudia

70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot fermented in stainless steel with a total skin contact of 22 to 25 days. Aged for 12 months in used barriques and tonneaux, followed by six months in bottle. Mid crimson. Balsamic more than fruity and a little dusty on the nose. Brooding, sweet, dark fruit and a suggestion of oak and green bell pepper. Sappy, tangy red- and dark-fruit palate with sandy tannins. Ends on sweet dark-fruit notes with slightly tart acidity. (WS)
