Note di degustazione
Limpid ruby-red. Smoke-accented red and dark berries, incense and candied flowers on the expansive, deeply perfumed nose; a spicy nuance adds vivacity. Sappy, alluringly sweet and fleshy on the palate, offering juicy cherry, black raspberry, vanilla and rose pastille flavors sharpened by a spicy nuance. Fine-grained and seamless in texture, finishing extremely long and gently chewy, with resonating spiciness and smooth, well-knit tannins.

Coming from the estate in the Edna Valley and fermented with 15% stems and aged in 20% new oak, the 2017 Pinot Noir Center of Effort reveals a medium ruby, almost opaque color as well as a complex nose of spice red and black fruits, cumin, baking spices, dried flowers, and a touch of cured meats. It has juicy acidity on the palate and is medium-bodied and nicely balanced as well as lengthy. Drink it over the coming decade.
Deep brilliant red. Black raspberry, cherry and a hint of succulent flowers on the expansive nose. Smooth and round on the palate, showing very good depth and energy to the red fruit preserve, bitter chocolate and spicecake flavors. The floral note recurs on a long, supple finish shaped by smoothly integrated tannins.
Brought up in 25% new oak, the 2017 Pinot Noir Effort sports a translucent ruby/plum color as well as pretty, fruit-driven notes of black raspberries, spring flowers, forest floor, and hints of salty, seaside-like nuances. It offers elegance, terrific fruit, outstanding balance, and a good finish. Drink this classic, vibrant Edna Valley release over the coming 4-6 years.
