Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2024-2031, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Jan 2024

The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Vogelzang Vineyard was barrel fermented and matured for 17 months in 35% new French oak. It's scented of kiwi, lime peel, tarragon, dried hay and matchstick. The medium-bodied palate has a concentrated core of nuanced flavors, a silky texture, mouthwatering acidity and a long, shimmery finish. It strikes a fine balance of ripe fruit and mineral character and will benefit from a couple of years in bottle. 300 cases were made.

Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2023-2030, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Sep 2023

The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Vogelzang Vineyard offers up a mélange of ripe orchard fruit, tangerine peel, mango, spice and hazelnut. In 2021 the Vogelzang has an exotic flair that is impossible to miss. There's a touch of new oak, but it works well for this style.

Punteggio 96/100 · Da bere 2025-2035, Jeb Dunnuck, Aug 2023

The richest of the three Sauvignons, the 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Vogelzang Vineyard has gorgeous melon, honeyed white flowers, orange blossom, and chalky, mineral nuances to go with a medium to full-bodied, vibrant, beautifully balanced style on the palate. It's clearly the most concentrated and opulent, with a singular style that will benefit from just a few years in the cellar. As with the other releases here, it will evolve for at least a decade if you're so inclined. Unquestionably, some of the finest wines coming out of the Central Coast today emerge from Dragonette, a collaboration between Brandon Sparks-Gillis, John Dragonette, and Steve Dragonette, and apparently, the estate can do no wrong as they consistently fashion incredible wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Rhône varieties, which you don’t see often. If you get a chance, don’t miss these wines.
