2015 Henri et Philippe Gallet Côte-Rôtie

Deep ruby. Ripe red/blue fruits, smoked meat, olive and peppery spices on the expressive nose. Intense black raspberry and cassis flavors, along with suggestions of spicecake, licorice and cracked pepper. The meat and blue fruit notes return on the very long, youthfully tannic finish, which is sharpened by a late jolt of cracked pepper.
