The 1993 Tokaji Nyulászó 6-Puttonyos has a less oxidative bouquet compared to the 1993 Blue Label; the floral nose features yellow plum, dried honey and quince notes that blossom in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a viscous opening, and cleaner and purer than the Blue Label, offering quince, marmalade and dried orange peel toward the finish. This significantly improves with aeration. Perhaps the first really great post-1990 Tokaji. Tasted at the Royal Tokaji Company tasting in London.

Aromas of honey, smoke and quinine segue on the palate into a rich riot of tea, orange, mango, pineapple and quince. Somehow, 212 grams of sugar are utterly buffered. For all the wine richness, there is a vivid sense of refreshing, ripe acidity throughout. Plum skin and citrus accents with a strong cantus firmus of tobacco, walnut oil and woodsmoke. Finish of caramel and orange cream reverberates with the aforementioned low notes.
