A beautifully fresh, bright and complex nose of mix red berries, spice and violets leads to attractively rich and plush flavors that possess excellent complexity and fine length on the impeccably well-balanced finish. I very much like the delivery here as there is good concentration as well as good detail plus terrific persistence. This is one of those wines that is so vibrant that it's a pleasure to drink now but at the same time it's clear that there is so much underlying material that it should age well too. *Outstanding*

(from declassified fruit from Thomas Brown's Sonoma Coast sites): Good medium red. Complex, rather Burgungian aromas of strawberry, raspberry, rose petal and earth, with hints of smoke and sandalwood. At once silky and juicy in the mouth, with enticing red fruit flavors framed by ripe acidity and complicated by smoke and earth. This rather delicate pinot finishes with suave tannins and good grip. A steal at the price.
The 2010 Pinot Noir Occidental Ridge Vineyard is laced with freshly cut flowers, mint, roses and sweet red berries, all of which are woven together in a fabric of unusual class. Sweet floral notes lead to a long, sensual finish underpinned by lively acidity. This feminine, totally sensual Pinot possesses striking overall balance and tons of finesse. The Occidental has the highest acidity of the 2010 Pinots, which should help it age gracefully over the coming years. (AG)
The 2010 Pinot Noir is a ridiculous wine for the money. A burst of dark red fruit, flowers, spices and licorice are some of the notes that burst from the glass in this juicy, totally enjoyable Pinot. This is one of the very finest Pinots being made anywhere in the world at this price point. Kudos to Thomas Rivers-Brown for making a delicious Pinot at a very fair and friendly price.
