The 2020 Volnay Les Aussy 1er Cru is quite bold on the nose, like the Pommard Les Cras, quite showy and forward with brassy scents of black cherries, violet and raspberry confit. The palate is ripe and slightly heady, the acidity doing its utmost to keep everything in check and retaining freshness on the finish. It's just a bit trop and confit in style.
