The 2021 Chardonnay Silver Eagle Vineyard has open, inviting scents of white peaches, meringue, almonds and clover honey. The medium-bodied palate is silky and expansive with slowly unfurling, savory flavors. It’s balanced by linear acidity and has a long, energetic finish. It will be long lived in the cellar.

The 2021 Chardonnay Silver Eagle Vineyard takes on a more reductive and Burgundian feel on the nose, with notes of flinty reduction, green apples, rocky earth, lime zest, and sea spray. Medium-bodied, it offers fantastic tension and length on the palate, with a very silky texture and a weightless feel. It’s gorgeous all the way through and is going to benefit from another year or more in the cellar. Drink 2025-2037.
Bright and vivid dried lime and fresh seaweed aromas jump out of the glass. Very aromatic. Medium- to full-bodied with a creamy texture that has some phenolic tension. Salty and wild with a wonderful finish. Hyde Wente clone. 30-year-old vines. Drink or hold.
The 2021 Chardonnay Silver Eagle Vineyard is the most potent and tropical of the Ferren Chardonnays. It offers up hints of apricot, passionfruit, spice and French oak. Viscous yet restrained in the Ferren style of today, the Silver Eagle delivers tons of immediacy.
