Vivid magenta. Potent, spice-accented black and blue fruit, spicecake and floral aromas show outstanding clarity and pick up a vibrant mineral nuance with air. Juicy and energetic on the palate, offering finely chiseled bitter cherry, blueberry and salty olive flavors that deepen and spread out steadily on the back half. Finishes sweet and impressively long, displaying repeating spiciness and harmonious tannins.

The 2016 Cornas l'Elegance du Caillou boasts seductive aromas of cracked pepper, crushed stone, muddled mint and red plum. Harmonious and composed from start to finish, there's nothing out of place in this full-bodied wine that boasts ripe, fine-grained tannins and ample length. It should drink well for 10-12 years.
