Note di degustazione
The 2015 Achleiten Riesling Smaragd has a white-golden color and opens with concentrated and stewed stone fruit aromas intermixed with spicy and flinty notes. Full-bodied, fresh and elegant on the palate, this 2015 has concentrated but finessed fruit with good acidity and phenolic grip in the finish. This will age slowly but very well.

A sassy, bright palate brimming with white peach and fresh lime is wreathed in site-typical, iris-like floral perfume. Firm in feel, thanks to its sheer juiciness, this isn’t austere, and it finishes with a strikingly persistent and dynamic interplay of flowers, fruits and diverse mineral notes. Yes, a quick comparison will expose this as a tasting note remarkably similar to that of the corresponding Grüner Veltliner. It’s Achleiten rather than the grape variety that comes through clearly in both cases, though I expect the two bottlings to diverge increasingly as they mature.
Still in tank and won't be released until September 2016. Smooth, clean and fruity. Peppery bite, crunchy, and a long, leggy, leafy finish. The palate is more interesting than the nose at the moment. (TC)
