The 2021 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard was matured for 10 months in 45% new French oak. It has intense aromas of cranberry, raspberry, orange peel, forest floor and conifer. The medium-bodied palate is lightly chalky and refreshing with a concentrated core of layered, spicy fruit and a long finish. It feels latent and will benefit from 2-3+ years in bottle. 399 cases were made.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard is a dark, brooding wine. Blueberry, lavender, cloves, new leather, incense and dried herbs add to an impression of gravitas. This dark, mysterious Pinot has a ton to offer. Vibrant acids and sneaky tannins lend energy, but the Soberanes is a decidedly potent Pinot.
The 2021 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard saw a touch more stems and was fermented with 35% whole clusters, with the aging spanning 11 months in 45% new French oak. It needs air to show at its best and gives up beautiful red and black fruits as well as black tea, spicy herbs, and foresty, earthy nuances. With more moderate acidity, a round, supple, layered mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish, it's going to benefit from a year or two of bottle age and evolve gracefully over the following decade. It's another brilliant wine.
