2020 Crystallum Chardonnay Clay Shales

The 2020 Clay Shales is a little more pithy on the nose compared to the previous vintage, sporting lovely honeysuckle, orange blossom, peach skin and waxy scents. The palate is well balanced and mouth-filling, lightly spiced on the slightly honeyed-textured opening, while hints of stem ginger and bitter lemon lead to a saline finish. Very fine, although overall, perhaps the 2019 has a tad more precision.
