Note di degustazione
Bollinger's 1990 Brut La Grande Année is drinking superbly today, wafting from the glass with a complex bouquet of dried orange, pear, praline, honeyed toast and subtle hints of mocha. Full-bodied, textural and vinous, with superb depth at the core, bright girdling acids and a pretty pinpoint mousse, it's seamless and complete.

Magnum and still magnificently fresh despite its rich, bready weight and complexity. No hurry to drink this – from magnum anyway. (JR)
Magnum. Pale copper. Rich and mushroomy on the nose. Broad and firm. Quite a bit of evolution but it's much less evolved than Dom P or Krug 1990. This could be the perfect moment to drink this. Wonderful persistence. (JR)
Very mature nose – really mature and savoury – with dry, sudden finish. Slightly mushroomy nose – which is very characteristic of the Pinot-dominated Bollinger. Very dry. A little bit lacking fruit in this bottle from a possibly less-than-perfect domestic cellar. Mushrooms and truffles in spades. (JR)
