Furmint and Hárslevelű are in this wine. Nyulászó (meaning a good place to catch hares) is a first growth vineyard on the outskirts of the village of Mád. Its volcanic bedrock is overlaid with rich, brown clay interspersed with lighter rhyolite tuff, consistently producing racy, perfumed, elegant wines with a steely backbone. Royal Tokaji owns 15 hectares of parcels planted with Furmint, Hárslevelű and Kabar vines with an average age of around 25 years.  RS 204.8 g/l, TA 6.82 g/l. 11,926 bottles made. Firm, fiery nose. This is a bit more delicate than some with some citrus-peel notes. Rather elegant and sophisticated. Very nuanced, it is far from just a sweet wine. In fact the finish is almost dry and refreshing in the way that a Ch d'Yquem's can be. Exciting! A light touch. (JR)

The 2018 Tokaji Nyulászó 6-Puttonyos is a completely different wine from the Szt. Tamas that I tasted before. This has a strong peppermint scent on the nose that I find a bit distracting, not a trait I seek in Tokaji. The palate is a little more honeyed, toffee-tinged, with a hint of caramel towards the finish, where I seek more tension and brightness. It is not my favorite among the Royal Tokaji Company's releases. (204.8g/l residual sugar and 6.82g/l acidity)
