Very clean, direct, refreshing nose. So much broader on the palate than its Riesling stablemates, but still very lively. A hint of fermentation aroma still so I'd wait till next year but then it should be a useful partner for a wide range of foods. Still some light phenolics on the end. (JR)

Pristine and polished, in spite of the enormous concentration and power that leave you in no doubt of this wine’s greatness. Great interplay between the warm (very ripe pear) side of this dry pinot blanc and its cool (leafy and mineral) side, until the stunning finish, when the latter builds to a crescendo. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
The 2019 Weisser Burgunder Im Sonnenschein GG was vinified 80% in stainless steel and 20% in a Spanish tinaja (a neutral clay amphora) from Elisabetta Foradori that the Rebholz family has experimented with since 2014. It is very pure, fresh and flinty on the precise, elegant and aromatic nose, with more Riesling character than what you might expect from Pinot Blanc. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, refined and juicy, very elegant and persistently salty Im Sonnenschein with tension, grip and sustainable salinity. Very promising. Tasted as a sample in Bremen, April 2020.
