2021 Fred Prinz - Hallgartener Jungfer Riesling Kabinett

The 2021 Rheingau Riesling Kabinett Hallgartener Jungfer VDP Grosse Lage (Gold Capsule) – AP 11 22 – opens with a clear, aromatic, elegant and topical yet pure and flinty bouquet of crushed stones. Still reductive and far too young on the nose and palate, this is a round and savory, juicy, saline and crystalline Kabinett that surfs the popular Kabinett wave even though it is too rich and textured for a classic Kabinett. It's not really a wine that blows me away but a really good and promising Riesling in the fruity, moderately sweet style. Natural cork stopper. Tasted in December 2022.
