Recorked in 2000. With 'Bichot' on the label – though Rick also had a magnum and three bottles without Bichot on the label! The favourite wine of the night. Much richer and denser than most modern red burgundy. You almost felt that if you boiled it down in a petri dish there would be a great deal there. Rather ethereal nose emerged and then seemed to disappear, although Eric the sommelier said it improved and was gorgeous an hour or two after we all left! (Another time this wine should probably be decanted well in advance of serving.) (JR)
