Note di degustazione
The 2021 Peace combines 87% Syrah with 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petite Sirah. The nose is the darkest and most brooding of the Riise lineup, showing aromas of ripe black and purple fruits, new leather, dark spices and hints of savory, meaty touches that gain amplitude with aeration. The palate is rich, seamless and full-bodied but retains admirable poise and energy through the long, saturated, decadent finish. As with the rest of the Riise wines, it manages a rare midpoint between modern, slick textures and refined, alluring energy that should develop beautifully in the cellar.

Ripe black fruits, ground pepper, salted meats, game, and leafy herb notes all define the 2021 Peace, another powerful, full-bodied, concentrated effort that has a stacked mid-palate, a deep, layered mouthfeel, and blockbuster length. Based on 87% Syrah, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petite Sirah that saw 10% whole clusters and 26 months in 60% new oak, it’s going to benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age, and my money is on it seeing its 20th birthday in fine form.
The 2021 Peace opens with mentholated freshness, blending crushed blackberries and plums with savory herbs and a hint of tobacco. Cool-toned and sleek, it builds tension as noticeably ripe wild berry fruit is balanced by a tinge of clove that emerges toward the close. The finish leaves pleasantly chewy concentration and liquid violet florals, tapering off with extreme length and blackberry resonance.
