2021 Riise Syrah Fermin

A barrel selection of the finest lots in each vintage, the 2021 Fermin is 58% Syrah, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Petite Sirah. The nose is the most polished and glossy of the Riise range, leading with dark-fruited, leathery and herbal aromas that remain finessed and alluring. The palate is very concentrated, opulent and intense but retains balance and wonderfully coiled energy. The finish is absolutely explosive, delivering an impressive array of saturated fruits and grippy but ultimately balanced tannins that merit a few years of aging to soften. While this is clearly quite stylistic in nature, it is very well executed and manages to maintain a sense of authenticity without feeling overly produced.
