The inky opaque ruby/purple-colored 2010 Zinfandel Barrel 32, which comes from -seven exceptional barrels of Zinfandel,- is limited to 175 cases. Aromas of black fruits and flowers soar from the glass. With serious richness, a layered mouthfeel, outstanding intensity, and a full-bodied, blockbuster finish, this classic California Zinfandel is best drunk in its first 5-6 years of life, but my instincts suggest it will still be drinking well in 20-25 years. Dark purple. Displays intense dark berry preserve, cola and licorice scents, with exotic Indian spice and vanilla flourishes and a touch of incense. Broad, palate-staining black and blue fruit flavors show impressive depth and energy, with a spine of acidity adding lift and brightness. Supple tannins build through a sweetly persistent finish that repeats the cola note. (JR)
