Cassis, plums, violets, lead pencil, and leafy herbs notes all emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Thomas Vineyard, a Rutherford Cabernet revealing some classic, loamy earth-like minerality, full-bodied richness, ripe tannins, and a great finish. I love its balance, and it's going to drink brilliantly for upwards of two decades. 457 cases.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Thomas Vineyard is a potent, tightly wound wine. The Thomas is not as extroverted as the other wines in the range - not even close - but it has plenty of substance and real sense of gravitas, both of which are compelling. Red cherry jam, pomegranate, spice and new leather open over time, but only reluctantly. Readers will have to be patient here, as the tannins are pretty forbidding.
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Thomas Vineyard tumbles out of the glass with opulent scents of crème de cassis, fruitcake and ripe, juicy plums, plus hints of Indian spices and dusty soil. Full-bodied, concentrated and decadently fruited with well-poised freshness and ripe tannins, it finishes long and spicy.
