Note di degustazione
The 2006 Lafon-Rochet has an intense bouquet with raspberry, wild strawberry and rose petal aromas, very focused and refined with good definition. The palate is medium-bodied with a balsamic-tinged entry. There's fine depth with tarry black fruit. It's stocky towards the finish. Give this another year in bottle. Tasted at the Lafon-Rochet vertical at the property.

53% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. Most unusual to have such a high proportion of Merlot. Lively crimson. Actually quite a lot of cassis in the aroma. Very firm and much more St-Estèphe than Merlot! At this time the maître de chai was very keen on hunting and tended to pick a tad early. (JR)
Tasted blind. Slight TCA but a solid performance underneath though horrible aggressive tannins. Is this the TCA? (JR)
