Note di degustazione
(50% vendange entier ; 33 hectoliters per hectare): Healthy dark red. Aromas of black raspberry, black cherry, menthol, licorice, spices and violet. Wonderfully suave, dry, relaxed wine with juicy dark fruit and mineral flavors framed by firm-edged, harmonious acidity. Boasts lovely inner-mouth perfume and tension. Finishes juicy, suave and long, with refined tannins that coat the sides of the tongue and subtle lingering rose petal lift. A beauty.

The 2016 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Brûlées, which was blended a couple of weeks prior to my visit, is raised in 30% new oak. It has a lovely ripe cranberry and raspberry bouquet with well ingrated wood, touches of rose petal and oyster shell emerging with time in glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, quite structured with a firm grip and a stern finish that suggests this will benefit from 4 to 5 years in bottle.
50% whole bunch. One of the least hit by frost. Sample taken from cask just before moving to tank this morning. Very old vines. Very bright fruit and almost fizzing! Rudely fruity. A little short. (JR)
