Note di degustazione
While the 2021 Gigondas La Tour Sarrasine is less effusive on the nose than the 2021 Gigondas Prestige (88 points, not reviewed), there's clearly more substance here. Restrained mulberries and tart cherries give way to a wine that's medium to full-bodied, dusty and tannic. Give it a few years to smooth out.

The 2021 Gigondas La Tour Sarrasine shows the fresh, focused, yet classic style of the vintage. Based on 70% Grenache and 15% each Syrah and Mourvèdre, aged two years in stainless steel and concrete, it has textbook aromatics of spiced red and black fruits, leather, and peppery, meaty nuances. It's medium-bodied, has firmer tannins, good balance, and solid length on the finish. This classic, impeccably made Gigondas will evolve for 8-10 years.
Bright violet color. The fragrant and incisive nose displays vibrant red fruit, floral and spice qualities. Shows very good energy and detail on the palate, offering nervy bitter cherry and redcurrant flavors and a hint of garrigue . Closes long and spicy, with resonating fruit and floral notes.
70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre. Haute Valeur Environnementale certified. Each variety was vinified separately. Matured for 24 months in concrete or stainless steel. Tank sample. Tasted blind. Fig, cherry and red fruit on the nose. Quite ripe and sweet red fruits, leather and spice. Slight confection on the fruit. (AC)
