Note di degustazione
The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet La Maltroye 1er Cru feels rather enervated on the nose, which is smudged and lacking much in the way of terroir expression. The palate offers a bitter lemon entry with touches of lime and citrus peel, although it never fans out toward the finish and feels a little gawky, lacking the substance to really encourage bottle maturation. This is a disappointing showing from an otherwise promising grower. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Maltroye has a simple tropical tinged bouquet with hints of brioche and peach skin, although it needs more terroir expression to show through. The palate is nicely balanced with peach and grapefruit notes, just a mote of salinity on the finish, but perhaps missing that tension and bite.
Quite struck-match on the nose and then chewy and a tad stodgy for now. Wait for it to turn into a swan? Strong lime character. (JR)
