Note di degustazione
The 2016 Rediviva of The Stones is a blend of 81% Syrah, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Mourvèdre. Coming from the Rockgarden Estate, the wine shows the heart of Syrah on the nose with aromas of blackberry, black raspberry and black peppercorn spice. The Cabernet expression is fully exposed on the palate along with a soft note of red bell pepper and mild leathery earthiness providing a lift, giving the wine remarkable complexity across the mid-palate. The wine gains in complexity, depth and breadth as it sits in the mouth, showcasing expertise in blending. It ends with a long, thoughtful finish and continues to evolve in the mouth long after the wine has left the palate. Only 257 were produced of this deliciously seductive wine. Stunning.

Bright dark red. Lively, expressive aromas of raspberry, cherry and mocha accented by pepper and licorice, even a whiff of rose petal. Aromatically precise and vibrant, with its raspberry and licorice flavors conveying good peppery energy and vinosity throughout, reflecting the cooler, longer growing season. No Rocks saltiness or high-pH mouthfeel here! This tightly coiled wine shows very good definition and lift, nicely combining Cabernet Sauvignon spine and Mourvèdre savory spices. I suspect it will always be dominated by its slightly peppery quality and brisk acid backbone but this very refreshing blend may also expand and soften with more cellaring.
This elegant, syrah-dominant red has a red-cherry and redcurrant core with supple, lacy tannins and a suave, slightly peppery palate, based on red-fruit flavors. A blend of 81% syrah, 12% cabernet sauvignon and 7% mourvedre. Drink or hold.
The 2016 Rediviva of the Stones is slightly darker colored and checks in as a mix of 81% Syrah, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Mourvèdre. It offers a classic Walla Walla bouquet of ripe red and black fruits, olive tapenade, ground pepper, and lavender. With medium body, juicy acidity, light tannins, and a clean finish, it's another wine that leans toward the fresh, elegant side of the spectrum with moderate density and depth. Nevertheless, it's beautifully balanced and has loads to love.
