The 2012 Perlita by Diamandes Malbec Syrah is quite compact. The Malbec seems to be well-integrated with the Syrah, and displays clean aromas, fine tannins, and well-integrated oak, but could do with a bit more acidity. Drink now. Diamandes, owned by the owners of Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere in Graves, Bordeaux, is one of the wineries belonging to the Clos de los Siete group lead by Michel Rolland, who is the advisor for the wines here. Malbec and Syrah blend. Rich, smooth. Seamless. Malbec dominates with its plum fruit, but there is a bit of Syrah spice. (RH)
