2014 Domaine Felettig Vosne-Romanée Aux Reignots 1er Cru

The 2014 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Reignots (here it's "Les" not "Aux") is matured entirely in new oak and constitutes just 600 bottles. It is usually blended with Felettig's other Vosne premier crus, unless the vintage bestows sufficiently fine fruit. At the moment, that new wood comes through strongly on the nose and clouds the terroir expression. The palate is well structured, a little chewy on the entry with impressive weight, though again you feel that it is not going to show its colors until that new wood has been absorbed.
