Really subtle oak on the nose. On the leaner side of Chardonnay styles but not austere. Slight grip combined with a gentle creaminess gives a fine texture. Refined and restrained. (JH)

The 2012 Parterre Chardonnay is redolent of ripe apricots, honeyed pears and lightly browned toast with hints of allspice and cashews. Light-bodied and supported by a tart acid backbone, it gives delicate stone fruit and toasty flavors through the long finish. Drink it now to 2018+. Fraser Gallop does not currently have a USA importer.
2000 c/s produced. Whole bunch, ambient yeast, 1/3 new oak for 10 months. N-S rows. No malo. More evident oak than on the straight 2012 but well integrated. Mealy and a touch of vanilla. Very ripe intense citrus with an oak spice note. Some clementine on the nose as it opens. Concentrated. Subtle struck match on the palate. Very crisp and needs bottle age. Should age beautifully. (JH)
