Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2013-2020, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Jun 2013

Along the same lines, yet with a tad more richness, the 2011 Syrah-Grenache Upland Vineyard checks in as a blend of 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache that was aged in 20% new French oak for 15 months. Deep ruby/purple in color, it offers crunchy blackberry, raspberry, bramble, spice, pepper and underbrush to go with a medium-bodied, fresh and lively feel on the palate. Lean and racy on the finish, it too could use a smidge more fruit. Enjoy bottles over the coming 5-7 years. Drink now-2020. An up and coming producer to watch, these beauties are made by Ryan Crane (of Va Piano Vineyards) and feature incredibly fresh, pure profiles that have juicy acidity and solid ripeness. As a whole, I think his 2011s are step up over the 2010s, with better fruit and texture. Nevertheless, both vintages are solid and well worth checking out! kerloocellars.com
