Note di degustazione
The 2023 Brouilly Cuvée Vieilles Vignes consists of old (up to 90 years) and young vines on clay-limestone soils. This aged in demi-muids . The bouquet is understated, with raspberry and wild strawberry scents, hints of crushed stone and graphite. The palate is balanced, fresh and vibrant, with crisp acidity and a tensile, piquant finish. Not enormous in length, this is a delicious Brouilly.

At the lower end of Brouilly in the lieu-dit Vuril on deep, fertile clay-limestone soils. 60-year-old vines (on average). Half is matured in used 500-litre demi-muids and half in enamelled tank. Bright mid crimson. Wafts of woodsmoke and raspberry on the nose. There’s a touch of fresh lemon, bringing freshness and delineating an elegant concentration of red and blue fruit on the palate. Powdery tannins and a seamless, elegant finish. The whole is given a savoury depth by a lick of saltiness. (MH)
