The 2021 Pepper Bridge Vineyard is coy and understated in the glass, showing just a touch of cedary spice, dried flowers and black cherries. This coasts across the palate with juicy textures and tart wild berry fruits as a tinge of balsamic spice adds tension toward the close. It's structured and long, leaving hints of clove and a minty freshness to balance.

The 2021 Pepper Bridge Vineyard is based on 34% Merlot, 33% Malbec, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 9% Petit Verdot. Its vivid purple hue is followed by a deep, rich, medium to full-bodied effort revealing reserved yet promising notes of smoky black fruits, iron, leafy tobacco, and crushed rock-like minerality. This powerful, inward, nicely structured 2021 needs to be hidden in the cellar for 3-4 years, but it should cruise in cold cellars over the following 15 years.
