This wine possesses a strikingly sunny disposition, with its zesty evocation of lemon and kumquat on a pungent nose and an animating, firm but relatively full palate. Alkaline, saline, and subtly smoky notes on the finish serve for interest and saliva-inducement.

The 2018 Monzinger Riesling NB (Niederberg) is beautifully clear, refined, bright and precise on the pure, fresh and subtle nose. Stunningly pure, mineral and fresh, even coolish in its crunchy stony notes. Full-bodied and enormously salty on the tight and concentrated palate, this is another impressive 2018 from Frank and Werner Schönleber. Bright and highly refined in its white stone fruit aromas and slate notes. This is a beautifully refined and elegant dry Riesling that has been bottled for the very first time. Tasted in July 2019.
Sourced from a range of vines on slate soils, this is fresh, punchy and attractively cast in a firm style with vibrant, rich lemons and white peaches and flinty allure. Thereâs plenty of flavor here. Really sleek and focused. Drink now. Screw cap.
Pale greenish straw. Clean, light, almost raw nose. Very tropical fruit – passion fruit? – acidity on the bright-fruited palate. Pungent finish with a hint of sponti . Crystalline in the extreme. Even though there is lots of ripe fruit in there, this needs lots of time. (JR)
