Note di degustazione
Deep violet color. Mineral-driven aromas of ripe red and blue fruits, olive, succulent flowers and exotic spices. Sappy and broad on the palate, offering appealingly sweet, spice-accented cherry and blueberry flavors that deepen steadily with air. The blue fruit note carries through a long, spicy finish that's given shape by fine-grained, even tannins. 75% new oak.

Lightly peppery and spicy on the nose, the 2019 Cote Rotie Promesse is a supple, medium to full-bodied effort that's immediately attractive. Plums and black cherries ease into notes of mocha on the finish, framed by soft, elegant tannins. For having spent 14 months in 80% new oak, it's impressively well balanced.
94% Syrah, 6% Viognier. Aged for 14 months in oak (80% new). Barrel sample. Tasted blind. Brooding nose and a gamey note. Dense palate with a vibrant twang of salinity and cedary oak spice, rounded mouthfeel and quite prominent oak-derived tannins at the moment. Nice subtle infusing of apricot Viognier notes. Needs time. (AC)
