2019 Rings - Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling Trocken

The Kallstadter Riesling 2019 Saumagen GG Riesling Trocken opens with a clear, fresh and chalky nose with substance and intense fruit aromas with lemon juice notes. This is a dense and elegant, still firm, discreet and somewhat caged Saumagen with vital acidity and grippy tension. It's quite a bit alcoholic, though. Tight and reductive, this is pretty bitter and a bit astringent on the finish. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in Neustadt in June 2023.
