Note di degustazione
Made with some grapes that were picked very early and fermented as whole clusters with 80° Oechsle, the 2019 Spätburgunder Simonroth offers a bouquet that is pure, fresh, spicy and still a little reductive, with aromas of ripe cherries, fresh black berries and some floral notes paired with mineral notes of crushed stones. Aged in new and used tonneaux, this is a light and delicate but also intense and charming Pinot Noir with remarkable roundness, juiciness and sustainable structure. This is an impressive young, classic Pinot from Grosses Gewächs vineyards such as Lämmler and Mönchberg. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in March 2022.

I love the complex baking-spice, toasted-almond and savory character of this wine that edges slightly in the direction of balsamic vinegar, but has enough youthful veuve on the palate to give it plenty of appeal. The balance of juiciness and healthy tannins at the finish seals the deal. Bottled unfiltered. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold.
