2019 Jean-Luc & Eric Burguet Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Rouges du Dessus

The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Les Rouges des Dessus comes from purchased fruit from 50- to 60-year-old vines located just behind the Clos de Vougeot. It has a lifted bouquet of red cherry and red currant jus , displaying fine delineation and poise. The fleshy palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and good depth, the 50% new oak nicely integrated. Very tender on the finish, with just a hint of balsamic lending it edge. Excellent.
