Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2023-2026, Jeb Dunnuck, Feb 2023

Based on 61% Chenin Blanc, 23% Chardonnay, 13% Sauvignon Blanc, and the rest Viognier, the 2018 Terrasse White is another impeccably made wine from this estate. White peach, tart pineapple, and honeyed flowers all define the bouquet, and it's medium-bodied, fruit-forward, and as gulpable as they come. It's perfect for near-term drinking.

Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2022-2027, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, Jun 2022

A blend of 61% Chenin Blanc, 23% Chardonnay, 13% Sauvignon Blanc and 3% Viognier, the 2018 White Blend Terrasse is floral and citrus-driven while offering hints of oak and a soft nutty frame from 12 months of sur lie aging. Medium to full-bodied, with an elegant and food-friendly structure, the palate offers white peach and marshmallow flavors with a delightful mineral tension buttressed by refreshing acidity. Concluding with a long, lingering finish, this wine will drink well for the next 5 years.

The 2018 Terrasse comes across surprisingly closed on the nose compared with the 2019, needing coaxing to reveal the pressed flower, wax resin and flinty aromas. The palate is fresh on the entry with flavors of tangerine peel and satsuma, and quite edgy thanks to the fine bead of acidity. Touches of praline appear toward the finish. This is a lovely white blend from Alex Starey.

61%  Chenin Blanc, 23% Chardonnay, 13% Sauvignon Blanc and 3% Viognier. 2018 was the last year of the severe drought in the Cape. Audaciously succulent and generous. Peaches and caramel, pecan pie and orange melon, mango and allspice. Lots here! Pepper. Fennel. Pings around the palate with so much sharpshooting brightness but there is also this close-to-voluptuous richness. Seductive siren-call of a wine. (TC)
