Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2025-2040, Audrey Frick, jebdunnuck.com, Dec 2025

From the 2020 and 2021 vintages, the NV Champagne Premier Cru Blanc De Noirs is a bright straw/light copper-tinted color and is composed of equal parts Pinot Noir and Meunier. It was raised in 30% oak barrel and the rest in stainless steel cuve. Disgorged in June 2025, the palate is more subtle here, with more verticality to its notes of salty earth, white grapefruit, and white mushroom. The mousse is a bit frothy, and the wine has more structure. The freshness is there, as well as a pithy texture, but it has spottier, more vertical tension and drive. Drink this over the coming 15 years. It's more reserved and will benefit from another year in the cellar. The small grower estate of Clément Perseval is based in Chamery in the Montagne de Reims. A great advocate of biodynamics, Clément’s three hectares of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier have been certified for four years. Chamery is an amphitheater, with a different type of exposition for the Chardonnay, which gets more sunshine, while the Pinot Noir is opposite in its exposition, with the Meunier in-between. Across the range, they strive to highlight both individual plots and the vineyard's overall expression.

Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2025-2030, Kristaps Karklins, Wine Advocate, May 2025

Disgorged in July 2024 without dosage, Clément Perseval’s NV Blanc de Noirs is an equal-parts blend of the 2021 and 2020 vintages. Predominantly vinified in enameled tanks, with the remainder matured in foudre, the base vintage spent 11 months on the lees, while the reserve wines rested for an additional year. The wine opens with aromas of yellow apple, red plum, tangerine zest and white flowers. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and fleshy yet incisive—capturing the hallmark tension of the cool 2021 vintage—with vivid acidity and a tangy, saline finish. The fruit is sourced from co-planted Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier vines, rooted in clay soils on the mid-slope parcels of Chamery.

Full on the nose but a bit green on the palate. Very youthful, like the winemakers! Chewy end. Clean but not very satisfyingly deep. (JR)
