Note di degustazione
Good red-ruby color. Aromas of red- and blackcurrant, spices, licorice and herbs show some very ripe notes without quite turning porty. At once sweet and savory in the mouth, with slightly high-toned flavors of dark berries and dark chocolate framed by well-integrated acidity. The persistent finish features substantial dusty but essentially smooth tannins and a saline quality. This wine boasts serious fruit for its gentle price and should give pleasure for several more years. According to winemaker Brennon Leighton, the only differences between the high-end Vineyard Collection bottlings under the Wines of Substance label and the less expensive ones are vine yields and the amount of time the wines spend in barrel. (14.5% alcohol)

The 2017 Cs Cabernet Sauvignon has an open core of good, juicy black fruit with a soft but classic focus of blackberries, cherries and subtle black plum. The flavors continue on the medium-bodied palate with pleasurable yet straightforward expressions for this keenly priced Cabernet. The wine delivers pleasure on the finish with a focus on healthy fruit. Priced under $20, this is a solid buy. 130,000+ cases produced.
A very appealing, all-round cabernet that gets all the treatment, in terms of natural-yeast fermentation and extended maceration in purpose-built tanks. It is made from vineyards with dedicated, higher-density planting to achieve the right level of ripeness and depth. The nose has abundant cassis with cooler, leafy aromas, as well as a very composed palate that delivers deep purple fruit and impressive length. Drink now. 165,000 cases produced.
The base 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is brilliant, and as Cabernet Sauvignon goes, it’s a value that’s hard to beat! Classic black and blue fruits, damp earth, violets, and tobacco notes all emerge from this medium to full-bodied effort that stays pure, impeccably balanced, and vibrant on the palate. It’s the real deal, and if it was from Napa, it would sell for 3-4 times the price. The Wines of Substance label represent the Bordeaux variety releases previously in the K Vintners portfolio.
