Not that much on the nose but lovely broad, white-pepper appeal on the palate. Verging on Smaragd intensity on the palate, long finish and admirable balance. Already giving pleasure. This would make a very versatile match for food: red-wine foods as well as more traditional white-wine foods. Rich lemon-juice impression. But I would love a little more aroma. Maybe it will develop. Bottled in late March 2019 with 12.5% alcohol, the 2018 Grüner Veltliner Federspiel is clear, discreet, fresh and spicy on the characterful nose. Lush and elegant on the palate, this is a mouth-filling and textured Veltliner with charmingly round fruit and stimulating grip on the slightly bitter finish. Tasted at the domain in September 2019.
