Blended with 18% Grenache and 2% Mourvèdre, the 2019 Syrah Columbia Valley offers a dark-fruit frame with a floral lift. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is firm and focused with a delightful mineral tension and succulent acidity that gives way to fine-grained tannins over the mid-palate. The Syrah concludes with elements of graham cracker and blackberry skin over the delightful and spicy finish. Give it a try.
A hint of sour citrus nicely complements dusty rose and crushed blackberries as the 2019 Syrah Columbia Valley opens in the glass. It's silky and pliant, with a pleasant inner sweetness complemented by juicy acidity. The 2019 leaves a staining of fine tannins while maintaining an energetic feel and leaving nuances of blueberry and sweet sage that linger on.
The 2019 Syrah (there's 16% Grenache and 2% Mourvèdre) sports a deep purple hue to go with classic Syrah notes of darker berry fruits, peppery herbs, violets, leather, and spice. It's nicely balanced, medium to full-bodied, has ripe tannins, and is unquestionably an outstanding wine. It will shine for 7-8 years.
